The Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at ODU (formerly EVMS) Physician Assistant Program invites applications for the position of core Program Faculty. The PA core faculty member works in concert with the Program Director and PA Program faculty to promote quality education for the students in accordance with the Program’s mission and ARC-PA accreditation standards.

Position Summary:

This is a 12-month, full-time position with the opportunity for clinical release or research time. The PA Faculty member reports directly to the Program Director and is a key member of the PA faculty team.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Teach, evaluate, and advise didactic and clinical physician assistant students.
  • Serve on program, school, and professional committees.
  • Assist in the admission, remediation, and retention of physician assistant students.
  • Serve as advocate for the program and communicate program needs to the Program Director.
  • Create and promote a positive work/teaching/learning environment among students and staff through teamwork and open communication.
  • Academic rank commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate
  • Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • Current Virginia State Licensure or ability to obtain a license
  • At least 5-years clinical experience as a Physician Assistant
  • Excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication, dedication to program development, and a willingness to accept new challenges
